لوقا ٦

١ On a Sabbath, while he was going through the grainfields, his disciples plucked and ate some heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands.

لوقا ٦

رب السبت

١ وفي السَّبتِ الثّاني بَعدَ الأوَّلِ اجتازَ بَينَ الزُّروعِ. وكانَ تلاميذُهُ يَقطِفونَ السَّنابِلَ ويأكُلونَ وهُم يَفرُكونَها بأيديهِمْ.

٢ But some of the Pharisees said, “Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?”

٢ فقالَ لهُمْ قَوْمٌ مِنَ الفَرّيسيّينَ: «لماذا تفعَلونَ ما لا يَحِلُّ فِعلُهُ في السُّبوتِ؟».

٣ And Jesus answered them, “Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him:

٣ فأجابَ يَسوعُ وقالَ لهُمْ: «أما قَرأتُمْ ولا هذا الّذي فعَلهُ داوُدُ، حينَ جاعَ هو والّذينَ كانوا معهُ؟

٤ how he entered the house of God and took and ate the bread of the Presence, which is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to those with him?”

٤ كيفَ دَخَلَ بَيتَ اللهِ وأخَذَ خُبزَ التَّقدِمَةِ وأكلَ، وأعطَى الّذينَ معهُ أيضًا، الّذي لا يَحِلُّ أكلُهُ إلّا للكهنةِ فقط».

٥ وقالَ لهُمْ: «إنَّ ابنَ الإنسانِ هو رَبُّ السَّبتِ أيضًا».

٥ And he said to them, “The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”

٦ On another Sabbath, he entered the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was withered.

شفاء في السبت

٦ وفي سبتٍ آخَرَ دَخَلَ المَجمَعَ وصارَ يُعَلِّمُ. وكانَ هناكَ رَجُلٌ يَدُهُ اليُمنَى يابِسَةٌ،

٧ And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they might find a reason to accuse him.

٧ وكانَ الكتبةُ والفَرّيسيّونَ يُراقِبونَهُ هل يَشفي في السَّبتِ، لكَيْ يَجِدوا علَيهِ شِكايَةً.

٨ But he knew their thoughts, and he said to the man with the withered hand, “Come and stand here.” And he rose and stood there.

٨ أمّا هو فعَلِمَ أفكارَهُمْ، وقالَ للرَّجُلِ الّذي يَدُهُ يابِسَةٌ: «قُمْ وقِفْ في الوَسطِ». فقامَ ووقَفَ.

٩ ثُمَّ قالَ لهُمْ يَسوعُ: «أسألُكُمْ شَيئًا: هل يَحِلُّ في السَّبتِ فِعلُ الخَيرِ أو فِعلُ الشَّرِّ؟ تخليصُ نَفسٍ أو إهلاكُها؟».

٩ And Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to destroy it?”

١٠ And after looking around at them all he said to him, “Stretch out your hand.” And he did so, and his hand was restored.

١٠ ثُمَّ نَظَرَ حَوْلهُ إلَى جميعِهِمْ وقالَ للرَّجُلِ: «مُدَّ يَدَكَ». ففَعَلَ هكذا. فعادَتْ يَدُهُ صَحيحَةً كالأُخرَى.

١١ But they were filled with fury and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus.

١١ فامتَلأوا حُمقًا وصاروا يتَكالَمونَ فيما بَينَهُمْ ماذا يَفعَلونَ بيَسوعَ.

١٢ In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.

اختيار الرسل الاثني عشر

١٢ وفي تِلكَ الأيّامِ خرجَ إلَى الجَبَلِ ليُصَلّيَ. وقَضَى اللَّيلَ كُلَّهُ في الصَّلاةِ للهِ.

١٣ And when day came, he called his disciples and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles:

١٣ ولَمّا كانَ النَّهارُ دَعا تلاميذَهُ، واختارَ مِنهُمُ اثنَيْ عشَرَ، الّذينَ سمّاهُمْ أيضًا «رُسُلًا»:

١٤ Simon, whom he named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip, and Bartholomew,

١٤ سِمعانَ الّذي سمّاهُ أيضًا بُطرُسَ وأندَراوُسَ أخاهُ. يعقوبَ ويوحَنا. فيلُبُّسَ وبَرثولَماوُسَ.

١٥ مَتَّى وتوما. يعقوبَ بنَ حَلفَى وسِمعانَ الّذي يُدعَى الغَيورَ.

١٥ and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot,

١٦ and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

١٦ يَهوذا أخا يعقوبَ، ويَهوذا الإسخَريوطيَّ الّذي صارَ مُسَلِّمًا أيضًا.

١٧ And he came down with them and stood on a level place, with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon,

بركات وويلات

١٧ ونَزَلَ معهُمْ ووقَفَ في مَوْضِعٍ سهلٍ، هو وجَمعٌ مِنْ تلاميذِهِ، وجُمهورٌ كثيرٌ مِنَ الشَّعبِ، مِنْ جميعِ اليَهوديَّةِ وأورُشَليمَ وساحِلِ صورَ وصَيداءَ، الّذينَ جاءوا ليَسمَعوهُ ويُشفَوْا مِنْ أمراضِهِمْ،

١٨ who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. And those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured.

١٨ والمُعَذَّبونَ مِنْ أرواحٍ نَجِسَةٍ. وكانوا يَبرأونَ.

١٩ And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.

١٩ وكُلُّ الجَمعِ طَلَبوا أنْ يَلمِسوهُ، لأنَّ قوَّةً كانتْ تخرُجُ مِنهُ وتَشفي الجميعَ.

٢٠ And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.

٢٠ ورَفَعَ عَينَيهِ إلَى تلاميذِهِ وقالَ: «طوباكُمْ أيُّها المَساكينُ، لأنَّ لكُمْ ملكوتَ اللهِ.

٢١ “Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. “Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.

٢١ طوباكُمْ أيُّها الجياعُ الآنَ، لأنَّكُمْ تُشبَعونَ. طوباكُمْ أيُّها الباكونَ الآنَ، لأنَّكُمْ ستَضحَكونَ.

٢٢ “Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!

٢٢ طوباكُمْ إذا أبغَضَكُمُ النّاسُ، وإذا أفرَزوكُمْ وعَيَّروكُمْ، وأخرَجوا اسمَكُمْ كشِرّيرٍ مِنْ أجلِ ابنِ الإنسانِ.

٢٣ Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.

٢٣ اِفرَحوا في ذلكَ اليومِ وتَهَلَّلوا، فهوذا أجرُكُمْ عظيمٌ في السماءِ. لأنَّ آباءَهُمْ هكذا كانوا يَفعَلونَ بالأنبياءِ.

٢٤ “But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation.

٢٤ ولكن ويلٌ لكُمْ أيُّها الأغنياءُ، لأنَّكُمْ قد نِلتُمْ عَزاءَكُمْ.

٢٥ “Woe to you who are full now, for you shall be hungry. “Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.

٢٥ ويلٌ لكُمْ أيُّها الشَّباعَى، لأنَّكُمْ ستَجوعونَ. ويلٌ لكُمْ أيُّها الضّاحِكونَ الآنَ، لأنَّكُمْ ستَحزَنونَ وتَبكونَ.

٢٦ “Woe to you, when all people speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets.

٢٦ ويلٌ لكُمْ إذا قالَ فيكُم جميعُ النّاسِ حَسَنًا. لأنَّهُ هكذا كانَ آباؤُهُمْ يَفعَلونَ بالأنبياءِ الكَذَبَةِ.

التكوين ١٩

١ The two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed himself with his face to the earth

خراب سدوم وعمورة

١ فجاءَ المَلاكانِ إلَى سدومَ مساءً، وكانَ لوطٌ جالِسًا في بابِ سدومَ. فلَمّا رآهُما لوطٌ قامَ لاستِقبالِهِما، وسَجَدَ بوَجهِهِ إلَى الأرضِ.

٢ and said, “My lords, please turn aside to your servant’s house and spend the night and wash your feet. Then you may rise up early and go on your way.” They said, “No; we will spend the night in the town square.”

٢ وقالَ: «يا سيِّدَيَّ، ميلا إلَى بَيتِ عَبدِكُما وبيتا واغسِلا أرجُلكُما، ثُمَّ تُبَكِّرانِ وتَذهَبانِ في طريقِكُما». فقالا: «لا، بل في السّاحَةِ نَبيتُ».

٣ But he pressed them strongly; so they turned aside to him and entered his house. And he made them a feast and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

٣ فألَحَّ علَيهِما جِدًّا، فمالا إليهِ ودَخَلا بَيتَهُ، فصَنَعَ لهُما ضيافَةً وخَبَزَ فطيرًا فأكلا.

٤ But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people to the last man, surrounded the house.

٤ وقَبلَما اضطَجَعا أحاطَ بالبَيتِ رِجالُ المدينةِ، رِجالُ سدومَ، مِنَ الحَدَثِ إلَى الشَّيخِ، كُلُّ الشَّعبِ مِنْ أقصاها.

٥ And they called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know them.”

٥ فنادَوْا لوطًا وقالوا لهُ: «أين الرَّجُلانِ اللَّذانِ دَخَلا إلَيكَ اللَّيلَةَ؟ أخرِجهُما إلَينا لنَعرِفَهُما».

٦ Lot went out to the men at the entrance, shut the door after him,

٦ فخرجَ إليهِمْ لوطٌ إلَى البابِ وأغلَقَ البابَ وراءَهُ

٧ and said, “I beg you, my brothers, do not act so wickedly.

٧ وقالَ: «لا تفعَلوا شَرًّا يا إخوَتي.

٨ Behold, I have two daughters who have not known any man. Let me bring them out to you, and do to them as you please. Only do nothing to these men, for they have come under the shelter of my roof.”

٨ هوذا لي ابنَتانِ لم تعرِفا رَجُلًا. أُخرِجُهُما إلَيكُمْ فافعَلوا بهِما كما يَحسُنُ في عُيونِكُمْ. وأمّا هذانِ الرَّجُلانِ فلا تفعَلوا بهِما شَيئًا، لأنَّهُما قد دَخَلا تحتَ ظِلِّ سقفي».

٩ But they said, “Stand back!” And they said, “This fellow came to sojourn, and he has become the judge! Now we will deal worse with you than with them.” Then they pressed hard against the man Lot, and drew near to break the door down.

٩ فقالوا: «ابعُدْ إلَى هناكَ». ثُمَّ قالوا: «جاءَ هذا الإنسانُ ليَتَغَرَّبَ، وهو يَحكُمُ حُكمًا. الآنَ نَفعَلُ بكَ شَرًّا أكثَرَ مِنهُما». فألَحّوا علَى الرَّجُلِ لوطٍ جِدًّا وتَقَدَّموا ليُكَسِّروا البابَ،

١٠ فمَدَّ الرَّجُلانِ أيديَهُما وأدخَلا لوطًا إليهِما إلَى البَيتِ وأغلَقا البابَ.

١٠ But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them and shut the door.

١١ And they struck with blindness the men who were at the entrance of the house, both small and great, so that they wore themselves out groping for the door.

١١ وأمّا الرِّجالُ الّذينَ علَى بابِ البَيتِ فضَرَباهُمْ بالعَمَى، مِنَ الصَّغيرِ إلَى الكَبيرِ، فعَجِزوا عن أنْ يَجِدوا البابَ.

١٢ Then the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? Sons-in-law, sons, daughters, or anyone you have in the city, bring them out of the place.

١٢ وقالَ الرَّجُلانِ للوطٍ: «مَنْ لكَ أيضًا ههنا؟ أصهارَكَ وبَنيكَ وبَناتِكَ وكُلَّ مَنْ لكَ في المدينةِ، أخرِجْ مِنَ المَكانِ،

١٣ For we are about to destroy this place, because the outcry against its people has become great before the LORD, and the LORD has sent us to destroy it.”

١٣ لأنَّنا مُهلِكانِ هذا المَكانَ، إذ قد عَظُمَ صُراخُهُمْ أمامَ الرَّبِّ، فأرسَلَنا الرَّبُّ لنُهلِكَهُ».

١٤ So Lot went out and said to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, “Up! Get out of this place, for the LORD is about to destroy the city.” But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be jesting.

١٤ فخرجَ لوطٌ وكلَّمَ أصهارَهُ الآخِذينَ بَناتِهِ وقالَ: «قوموا اخرُجوا مِنْ هذا المَكانِ، لأنَّ الرَّبَّ مُهلِكٌ المدينةَ». فكانَ كمازِحٍ في أعيُنِ أصهارِهِ.

١٥ As morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be swept away in the punishment of the city.”

١٥ ولَمّا طَلَعَ الفَجرُ كانَ المَلاكانِ يُعَجِّلانِ لوطًا قائلَينِ: «قُمْ خُذِ امرأتَكَ وابنَتَيكَ المَوْجودَتَينِ لئَلّا تهلِكَ بإثمِ المدينةِ».

١٦ But he lingered. So the men seized him and his wife and his two daughters by the hand, the LORD being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city.

١٦ ولَمّا توانَى، أمسَكَ الرَّجُلانِ بيَدِهِ وبيَدِ امرأتِهِ وبيَدِ ابنَتَيهِ، لشَفَقَةِ الرَّبِّ علَيهِ، وأخرَجاهُ ووضَعاهُ خارِجَ المدينةِ.

١٧ And as they brought them out, one said, “Escape for your life. Do not look back or stop anywhere in the valley. Escape to the hills, lest you be swept away.”

١٧ وكانَ لَمّا أخرَجاهُمْ إلَى خارِجٍ أنَّهُ قالَ: «اهرُبْ لحَياتِكَ. لا تنظُرْ إلَى ورائكَ، ولا تقِفْ في كُلِّ الدّائرَةِ. اهرُبْ إلَى الجَبَلِ لئَلّا تهلِكَ».

١٨ And Lot said to them, “Oh, no, my lords.

١٨ فقالَ لهُما لوطٌ: «لا يا سيِّدُ.

١٩ Behold, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have shown me great kindness in saving my life. But I cannot escape to the hills, lest the disaster overtake me and I die.

١٩ هوذا عَبدُكَ قد وجَدَ نِعمَةً في عَينَيكَ، وعَظَّمتَ لُطفَكَ الّذي صَنَعتَ إلَيَّ باستِبقاءِ نَفسي، وأنا لا أقدِرُ أنْ أهرُبَ إلَى الجَبَلِ لَعَلَّ الشَّرَّ يُدرِكُني فأموتَ.

٢٠ Behold, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one. Let me escape there—is it not a little one?—and my life will be saved!”

٢٠ هوذا المدينةُ هذِهِ قريبَةٌ للهَرَبِ إليها وهي صَغيرَةٌ. أهرُبُ إلَى هناكَ. أليستْ هي صَغيرَةً؟ فتحيا نَفسي».

٢١ He said to him, “Behold, I grant you this favor also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken.

٢١ فقالَ لهُ: «إنّي قد رَفَعتُ وجهَكَ في هذا الأمرِ أيضًا، أنْ لا أقلِبَ المدينةَ الّتي تكلَّمتَ عنها.

٢٢ Escape there quickly, for I can do nothing till you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.

٢٢ أسرِعِ اهرُبْ إلَى هناكَ لأنّي لا أستَطيعُ أنْ أفعَلَ شَيئًا حتَّى تجيءَ إلَى هناكَ». لذلكَ دُعيَ اسمُ المدينةِ «صوغَرَ».

٢٣ The sun had risen on the earth when Lot came to Zoar.

٢٣ وإذ أشرَقَتِ الشَّمسُ علَى الأرضِ دَخَلَ لوطٌ إلَى صوغَرَ،

٢٤ Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the LORD out of heaven.

٢٤ فأمطَرَ الرَّبُّ علَى سدومَ وعَمورَةَ كِبريتًا ونارًا مِنْ عِندِ الرَّبِّ مِنَ السماءِ.

٢٥ And he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.

٢٥ وقَلَبَ تِلكَ المُدُنَ، وكُلَّ الدّائرَةِ، وجميعَ سُكّانِ المُدُنِ، ونَباتِ الأرضِ.

٢٦ But Lot’s wife, behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

٢٦ ونَظَرَتِ امرأتُهُ مِنْ ورائهِ فصارَتْ عَمودَ مِلحٍ.

٢٧ And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the LORD.

٢٧ وبَكَّرَ إبراهيمُ في الغَدِ إلَى المَكانِ الّذي وقَفَ فيهِ أمامَ الرَّبِّ،

٢٨ And he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the valley, and he looked and, behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.

٢٨ وتَطَلَّعَ نَحوَ سدومَ وعَمورَةَ، ونَحوَ كُلِّ أرضِ الدّائرَةِ، ونَظَرَ وإذا دُخانُ الأرضِ يَصعَدُ كدُخانِ الأتونِ.

٢٩ So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had lived.

٢٩ وحَدَثَ لَمّا أخرَبَ اللهُ مُدُنَ الدّائرَةِ أنَّ اللهَ ذَكَرَ إبراهيمَ، وأرسَلَ لوطًا مِنْ وسَطِ الِانقِلابِ. حينَ قَلَبَ المُدُنَ الّتي سكَنَ فيها لوطٌ.

٣٠ Now Lot went up out of Zoar and lived in the hills with his two daughters, for he was afraid to live in Zoar. So he lived in a cave with his two daughters.

لوط وابنتاه

٣٠ وصَعِدَ لوطٌ مِنْ صوغَرَ وسَكَنَ في الجَبَلِ، وابنَتاهُ معهُ، لأنَّهُ خافَ أنْ يَسكُنَ في صوغَرَ. فسكَنَ في المَغارَةِ هو وابنَتاهُ.

٣١ And the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come in to us after the manner of all the earth.

٣١ وقالَتِ البِكرُ للصَّغيرَةِ: «أبونا قد شاخَ، وليس في الأرضِ رَجُلٌ ليَدخُلَ علَينا كعادَةِ كُلِّ الأرضِ.

٣٢ Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.”

٣٢ هَلُمَّ نَسقي أبانا خمرًا ونَضطَجِعُ معهُ، فنُحيي مِنْ أبينا نَسلًا».

٣٣ So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father. He did not know when she lay down or when she arose.

٣٣ فسقَتا أباهُما خمرًا في تِلكَ اللَّيلَةِ، ودَخَلَتِ البِكرُ واضطَجَعَتْ مع أبيها، ولَمْ يَعلَمْ باضطِجاعِها ولا بقيامِها.

٣٤ The next day, the firstborn said to the younger, “Behold, I lay last night with my father. Let us make him drink wine tonight also. Then you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.”

٣٤ وحَدَثَ في الغَدِ أنَّ البِكرَ قالَتْ للصَّغيرَةِ: «إنّي قد اضطَجَعتُ البارِحَةَ مع أبي. نَسقيهِ خمرًا اللَّيلَةَ أيضًا فادخُلي اضطَجِعي معهُ، فنُحييَ مِنْ أبينا نَسلًا».

٣٥ So they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.

٣٥ فسقَتا أباهُما خمرًا في تِلكَ اللَّيلَةِ أيضًا، وقامَتِ الصَّغيرَةُ واضطَجَعَتْ معهُ، ولَمْ يَعلَمْ باضطِجاعِها ولا بقيامِها،

٣٦ Thus both the daughters of Lot became pregnant by their father.

٣٦ فحَبِلَتِ ابنَتا لوطٍ مِنْ أبيهِما.

٣٧ The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab. He is the father of the Moabites to this day.

٣٧ فوَلَدَتِ البِكرُ ابنًا ودَعَتِ اسمَهُ «موآبَ»، وهو أبو الموآبيّينَ إلَى اليومِ.

٣٨ The younger also bore a son and called his name Ben-ammi. He is the father of the Ammonites to this day.

٣٨ والصَّغيرَةُ أيضًا ولَدَتِ ابنًا ودَعَتِ اسمَهُ «بنْ عَمّي»، وهو أبو بَني عَمّونَ إلَى اليومِ.

المزامير ١٢

١ <subheading>To the choirmaster: according to The Sheminith. A Psalm of David.</subheading> <q1>Save, O LORD, for the godly one is gone;</q1> <q2>for the faithful have vanished from among the children of man.</q2>

المزامير ١٢

لإمامِ المُغَنّينَ علَى «القَرارِ». مَزمورٌ لداوُدَ

١ خَلِّصْ يا رَبُّ، لأنَّهُ قد انقَرَضَ التَّقيُّ، لأنَّهُ قد انقَطَعَ الأُمَناءُ مِنْ بَني البَشَرِ.

٢ <q1>Everyone utters lies to his neighbor;</q1> <q2>with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.</q2>

٢ يتَكلَّمونَ بالكَذِبِ كُلُّ واحِدٍ مع صاحِبِهِ، بشِفاهٍ مَلِقَةٍ، بقَلبٍ فقَلبٍ يتَكلَّمونَ.

٣ <q1>May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, </q1> <q2>the tongue that makes great boasts, </q2>

٣ يَقطَعُ الرَّبُّ جميعَ الشِّفاهِ المَلِقَةِ واللِّسانَ المُتَكلِّمَ بالعَظائمِ،

٤ <q1>those who say, “With our tongue we will prevail, </q1> <q2>our lips are with us; who is master over us?”</q2>

٤ الّذينَ قالوا: «بألسِنَتِنا نَتَجَبَّرُ. شِفاهنا معنا. مَنْ هو سيِّدٌ علَينا؟».

٥ <q1>“Because the poor are plundered, because the needy groan, </q1> <q2>I will now arise,” says the LORD;</q2> <q2>“I will place him in the safety for which he longs.”</q2>

٥ «مِنِ اغتِصابِ المَساكينِ، مِنْ صَرخَةِ البائسينَ، الآنَ أقومُ، يقولُ الرَّبُّ، أجعَلُ في وُسعٍ الّذي يُنفَثُ فيهِ».

٦ <q1>The words of the LORD are pure words, </q1> <q2>like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, </q2> <q2>purified seven times.</q2>

٦ كلامُ الرَّبِّ كلامٌ نَقيٌّ، كفِضَّةٍ مُصَفّاةٍ في بوطَةٍ في الأرضِ، مَمحوصَةٍ سبعَ مَرّاتٍ.

٧ <q1>You, O LORD, will keep them;</q1> <q2>you will guard us from this generation forever.</q2>

٧ أنتَ يا رَبُّ تحفَظُهُمْ. تحرُسُهُمْ مِنْ هذا الجيلِ إلَى الدَّهرِ.

٨ <q1>On every side the wicked prowl, </q1> <q2>as vileness is exalted among the children of man.</q2>

٨ الأشرارُ يتَمَشَّوْنَ مِنْ كُلِّ ناحيَةٍ عِندَ ارتِفاعِ الأرذالِ بَينَ النّاسِ.
